What have I learn’t on my DLT journey

I have learn’t many things on my journey in the DLT environment. Where there is requirements on what is needed to have have adobe connect running to sanctification. What it takes to get that sort of learning environment to others around the globe without having to travel and meet people face to face. The resources are abundant you have access to it all around the internet eg Youtube, twitter, blog spots and more.

There are different techniques to get learning out there with the use of pedagogies eg case based learning, game based learning, etc. We all have a different styles of learning things like with VAKOG Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Olfactory and Gustatory. Talking about gustatory I am hungry for some learning and also for some food. 🙂

What I liked about my DLT journey

I liked that we had a little field trip to the music class and learn’t about how digital technology is used there. The sharing there is amazing. I liked the use of Adobe connect where I can access it online from anywhere where I have internet and a device to use it on. I enjoyed how I can make use of blogs, Twitter, Youtube more for learning.

I have put my CV up online still needs some updating. I have learn’t to link my pages together from different sites, this is quite handy as I and others can jump from on website about me to another.

Things that I think need improving

What I feel that is needed for improvements are that more digital learning tech to be integrated to the learning in the future classes. More improvements to the wikieducator will be nice, improved navigation where students can navigate around better. I hear some students have trouble at finding their way through the wiki.

I like the improvement you have made on EIT online Digital Learning coarse page. Tabbing the sections really helps. Looks much cleaner.

Youtube link to making a charm bracelet

Below is a comment I have made on the wikieducator page.

I have found an interesting tutorial Youtube video on how to make a DIY bracelet. DIY I believe stands for Do it yourself. The video has a interesting introduction of the instructor picking up her bracelet she dropped on the road and tucking herself under an on coming bus without getting hit. Then she proceeds clearly on how to make a DIY bracelet with her attractive accent. The camera was executed nicely showing the details closely with added effects of video editing detailing how it is done and showing the measurements. Audio was very clear which made the tutorial interesting.

The target audience will be mainly be female, there maybe some male audiences that are interested in making bracelets. Young girls may find interest in learning as well. The instructions are simple to follow for the average audience. It is interesting having the little introduction at the start to entertain the audience and make them feel some wow and humour. The close up of the bracelet being made is interesting with the video editing, showing arrows and measurements and other shapes

How I felt

I have learn’t how to make a DIY bracelet with simple steps to follow by the instructor Sara. It is enjoyable to watch and I recommend it to the target audience who are interested in making the bracelets.

There are other tutorials the Youtuber has made if you are interested in making more jewelry.

ePortFolios Assessed Activity 6.1

I have created a Linked In

My Google Site page

What is a ePortfolio? It is a online personal profile of a person which can be useful for other people to get to know you better and seek knowledge. Organisations will able to contact the person in question. You are able to put details of what you have achieved in your life, certificates, jobs, hobbies, interests and sports.

I have put a CV on my Google site page of what jobs I have done and other interesting activities.

My Personal Learning Network Assessed Activity 5.1

What I have learnt is my PLN (personal learning network) that I have been learning from others that I socialize with. I have various ways to communicate with classmates from coarse and with other friends. I have Facebook, Twitter, cellphone with phone apps, Skype, a Google account. They are all useful to me.

With Facebook, Skype, and cellphone I can communicate with my classmates and get together to do assignments or ask for help on something. With Google drive I can actually collaborate with others on assignments and share with others my knowledge of how to do something. Also I can have my work stored in there this makes me feel I have a backup of my work just in case my original work was lost.  I have Twitter to link my learning to using the hash tags which is interesting. I had a Twitter account for awhile but barely use it.

I have recently started to using a blog page which I have never really tried out before. Blogging is actually interesting because I can store information where I can look at again. With WordPress or Google Blogger, I can create blog with ease. I can even put pictures other attachments attached to the blog. I can link interesting Youtube videos I find on Youtube. Youtube is another tool of learning as people can demonstrate and teach how to do things either computers, gaming, sports and etc. Anything you want to learn is there. I can also use Youtube to upload my own videos if I like.

Mobile apps I use like Snapchat I can communicate with others send pictures what I am doing or where I am. Say I am lost somewhere and I have data on my phone I can snap a picture to my friend to let them know where I am. You can also record a little video for them and share it to your friends. There are so many tools to use out there and there are more being developed for future use.

Skype is useful for video or video calling and you can use it for a group conference, gaming communication, chat to family have, a job interview and also you can send and share files on it. I have used skype for awhile. My old chat I use to use was MSN which is long gone now that was the ancient days.

I have noticed people are either shy or hesitant or not bothered to use these tools, they may feel uncomfortable using it, have personal and privacy issues. One of my friends say they don’t even need a smartphone and they prefer to use their dinosaur phone (old brick cellphone).

I have used Wikipedia multiple times to search for information, I have learn’t a lot of things from there either about musicians, famous people, countries, about computing and many other information. I can even edit or create a page if I wanted to on the Wikipedia as long as there is a reference siting back to some resource. I have learn’t more on abilities of editing from digital learning by tasks on the wiki educator site.

Here is a link to the wikieducator page where I have inserted my PLN map.

This diagram reflects on the use of my PLN and what tools I use for learning. The tools I use gives me more learning without them I think I would be more caveman wouldn’t know as much as I do about the world around. I have found it interesting and useful to have these options to learn from. If I wasn’t sure about something I go check it out online, Google it they say.

Here below is the PLN map
